Below is the proper step by step tutorial to use iPod for reading E Books:

Step 1: First you need to download a open source program called TextWedge on your computer. Click here to download TextWedge.

Step 2: Now, download the book that you want to read on your computer and if you already have it on your computer, then copy it in a separate folder (make sure that download the TEXT versions of he books).

Step 3: Now, create a new folder which is going to be used as the destination folder after conversion because this program will break the whole book into different parts.

Step 4: Launch the TextWedge program and click on FILE on the main menu. There, click on Open and then navigate it to the path where book is saved.

Step 5: Now, select the Dialogues menu and there clock on Configure Standard Splitting. Here in the field labeled as Maximum Chunk Size, type 4096 and click on OK Button.

Step 6: Now click on the Actions button on main menu, and click on Split And Save Chunks.

Step 7: Once you are done, connect your iPod to your computer, launch iTunes, click on the Summary tab and there, check the option labeled as Enable Disk Use.

Step 8: This will make your computer detect your iPod as a storage device, now copy the folder in which files are converted and paste in the iPod folder named as Notes.

Step 9: Now turn ON your iPod, click on Extras and then choose the option labeled as Notes. You can read the files in order wise (numbers.)

That is all. Now you can carry your books on your iPod and read them anywhere, and anytime.
