1) Try to switch on your mobile phone:
When your cell phone is dropped in water, take it out of the water as soon as possible and check whether you can be able to switch it on or not! In most of the cases, you will find a blank screen and you are not able to switch it on.
2) Take off the battery and the SIM card:

3) Take the help of a blow dryer:
Use a blow dryer to dry the inner side of your mobile as much as possible. With hot air from the dryer, try to take out the maximum moisture available inside the mobile phone. Use the same for battery and SIM card. Also, you can submerge your mobile phone in desiccants like silica gel packets or dry rice. This helps to keep any moisture out of your mobile phone. Keep all the parts outside for 24 hours. Now assemble the battery and SIM card once again. Charge your mobile and try to switch it on once again. Hopefully your mobile phone will work this time!
4) Rinse mobile with fresh water if it gets dropped in salt water:
If you have dropped your mobile phone into salt water, first take off the battery and the SIM card. Then rinse your mobile phone with fresh water as much as possible. Try to take out the salt as much as possible from the mobile phone. Blows dry the cell phone so that no moisture remains inside your phone. Keep the SIM card and the battery out for 24 hours, then charge your mobile phone, and try to use it.
It is always important to keep your cell phone in a safe and dry place; it can be your pocket or purse. Mobile phone should not be used in the rain unless you are standing under a shade as the moisture from rain water often damages your cell phone. Microwave, heat lamps and hair dryer generally cause damage to the cell phone; so for drying wet mobile phone those electronic goods should always be avoided.
