Now its your turn to do some more research and come to a conclusion whether its Dell XPS 15 or HP Envy 14.
A nice little article. But I would be more curious on the Differences between the Sound System of each laptop ! I’m really in that dilemma.
I want something POWERFUL( In terms of SOUND, quality, Bass, Clarity), but also it has to be kinda Light weighted, for mobility.
I have to choose between
HP Envy with Beats [2.1] – Beats
HP Pavilion DV7/DV6t [2.1] – Beats
Toshiba Qosmio X300 (or 305…) [ 4.1] – Harman Kardon
DELL Xps 15 [2.1] – JBL
And I have to do some research on Toshiba Satellite X200 and Dell M1730 … Heard that these have some pretty good speakers ( 4.0 BOSE , if I’m not mistaking ?! ).
I’m not interested in game performance…nor Blu Ray… I had an Xbox , now I have a PS3… so that’s not the problem.
I just want some SUPER SOUND ! π You know that most laptops have cr@ppy speakers…
Awaiting for a reply, thank you!
hey man your definitely going to want to go with the dell xps 15 the speakers are way better than the beats speakers… the beats speakers is kind of a gimmick because they are pretty much just advertising the headphone jack and it does not go very loud
i bought this machine
and would advice u to not buy it.
its mother board n sound card stopped working 2 days after i bought it
dell is yet to repair it. and its been 4 months.
i m so frustated. i just wasted 55k bucks on it
xps15
pros
best speakers … i believe the speaker on the xps is much better than hp
high quality speakers
cons
its kinda on the heavy side with the 9cell battery
not as stylish as most hp laptops
Curious on how the Harman Kardons match up with the XPS and Envy….
Or at least I would love to know the opinion of a Toshiba owner ( X300 or X200 )…
You’ve got great insights about need beats, keep up the good work!
Yep. I’ve got a credit account with Dell that has gone unused for years. I should just close it, as I have absolutely no intention to buy a laptop or desktop from them again. I can build a better desktop for less, and ASUS makes far superior laptops for the price.
Just played today with a XPS 15. Jaw Dropping sound ! π It seems i’m gonna be seein’ this piece of hardware a little more often. So i’ll have the chance to check it out a bit more!
Impressed – I’m hard to impress when it comes to this stuff. π
So far :
1. XPS 15
2. Asus N53 ( NEW ENTRY – Has Bang and Olufsen!!!)
3. Envy 17 ( Disappointed, expected more, but it’s all right for everything else, except massive sound )
— Need to check out the Toshibas…….:(
Back again with more info.
I did it, I’ve seen a Qosmio X300 , checked it out…and bought it ! It was a real bargain, 400$ ! It was much cheaper than any of the other models I mentioned. I am very SATISFIED regarding the sound ! It has lots of different presets, modes etc. You just have to play a bit with the equalizers and set them to your hearts desire (and ears). π
It IS the noisiest laptop i’ve ever heard (in a good way). It has an unique design, nice screen too. it is kinda heavy , 4.3 KG. But it is worth it ! I am glad i spent my money on this Toshiba ,than on the HP which was awful (i am referring strictly to the sound!), the Asus which was weaker than my phone (yeah, i had a pretty loud phone – LG GM200).
Still, maybe , if the DELL XPS 15 would have had a better, attractive price, MAYBE, just MAYBE, i would have opted for one of those.
But seeing that the XPS is twice, maybe triple the price of the Qosmio and I wouldn’t really put its hardware to maximum use, because i wouldn’t actually need it really, i think this was the best choice for me. Don’t get me wrong, the Toshiba has nice specs too, but it was SOUND that i was looking for.
Comparing the two models sound wise… Yes, I def. consider the Qosmio a better sounding machine than the XPS. It is much louder and clearer.
For those of you looking for more gaming capabilities and an i3,i5,i7 or something processor… choose the DELL. it is Great too.
