How To Root / Unlock Google Nexus S | Android 2.3 Gingerbread |


Here is the tutorial to root Google Nexus S. Yes, we are not kidding. It has not been much of time since the release of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and we already have the steps to unlock Nexus S.

If you have already rooted any device before, then this tutorial is a cake walk for you. Even if this is the first time that you are trying to root any device, you can easily root Google Nexus S.

Here is the step by step procedure to root Google Nexus S:

STEP 1: Connect your Google Nexus S to you computer ( desktop / laptop / mac ).

STEP 2: Once your computer detects Nexus S, you need to reboot it in bootloader / fastboot mode. You can do that by holding the Volume + Power Up button.

STEP 3: You can even complete the above step by using the command “adb reboot bootloader”.

STEP 4: Now hit the command “fastboot oem unlock” to unlock the bootloader.

STEP 5: Now you are required to download and install Recovery. Once you are done with it, go to the command prompt and run the command “fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-herring.img”.

STEP 6: Now, you are required to boot into Clockwork recovery and install the Superuser zip file from adb reboot recovery or from fastboot choose recover.

That is it. You have successfully unlocked Google Nexus S. This is was complete step by step procedure to root Google Nexus S.
