How To Restore iPod Shuffle

First of all, you need to make sure that you have latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. If not, either download it or update your older version.

Now, launch iTunes and connect your iPod Shuffle to your computer and wait until it detects the device.

When it detects your iPod, click on the device on the left panel of iTunes. This will display you with all the information about your iPod Shuffle.

There, click on the Settings tab if you are using iPod shuffle (1st or 2nd generation) and Summary tab, if you are using iPod shuffle (3rd or 4th generation).

Now click on Restore button. When you do that, it would prompt you with number of options. Choose those options as per you preference, then let it start with the restoring process.

It would display you with the progress indicator, which would give you the clear idea about the progress status. Once it is done, its status light will flash Orange and this indicates that the restoration is complete.

Eventually, iPod Setup Assistant would pop up and ask you to name your iPod and then you can start syncing with the library and you can start using it as you have started using it when you unpacked it for the first time.
