JuiceDefender is a free Android based app saves battery power by controlling device APN (data connection) and/or WiFi. It works well and extends your battery life to an appreciable level.
You can schedule the activation on a regular basis of the Wi-Fi or by APN in the background so that the synchronization can take place while the screen is on.
You can schedule its APN / WiFi connection activation to enable the background data sync and have APN/WiFi enabled while the screen is on.
The Easy Mode is another way to lengthen battery life. Just Juice enable Defender by clicking the big button and you’re set.
