I have already told you that this is a genuine way to upgrade your Galaxy Ace. So make sure that you install the updated version of Samsung Kies on your computer.
You can check out the official site here, and install the updated version of the Kies package. If in case you already have it installed on your computer, then just see if you have any updates.
Once you are all ready with the Kies program, you need to connect your Ace to your computer. And as soon as Kies detects your smartphone, it would notify you that the new version of firmware is available for your phone.
And it will also prompt you if you want to upgrade it. Obviously you do, that is why you are putting some efforts. So, just click on the Update button.
Now it would display you with some points, so just go through them so that you do not miss anything during the whole process. And then click on Start Upgrade button.
While Kies updates your smartphone, it would also prompt you to backup your contacts and bookmarks. So just back them up.
This whole process would take around 1 hour or more depending on your Internet connection speed. This whole process might create an impression as it is hung, but do not worry, it takes time. Just make sure that you do not disconnect your smartphone all this while.
Once it is done with the whole upgrade process, it would display you with the all the details. That is it, this is how you can upgrade Samsung Galaxy Ace to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

You will need to update Kies to the latest version on your PC, this will make the update to Gingerbread available.
Next connect your phone to your PC and Kies will display firmware update as available (Gingerbread).
Do not unplug your phone whilst updating. The update may take some time to complete and possibly more than one attempt but stick with it and your phone will soon (hopefully) be running on Gingerbread!
