Step 1: Format you pen drive in NTFS format as files cannot be encrypted in FAT format.
Step 2: Save all your files and folder than you need to encrypt in a separate folder.
Step 3: Right click on the folder than you want to encrypt and click on the option labeled as PROPERTIES.
Step 4: Now click on the ADVANCED button on the dialog box that opens.
Step 5: On the new dialog box, put a check to the option that asks says “Encrypt Contents To Secure Data”.
That is it. Now this folder can be accessed only the user account of the same computer on which it has been created.
You can use free software like WinEncrypt CryptArchiver, this allows you to encrypt USB drives so they can be used on any computer.
Because it’s portable, you just plug in the drive into any PC, enter your password and you’re set. I think they have a free version for download at http://www.winencrypt.com but my copy came bundled with my drive.
