I never knew that Android devices / smartphones could not connect / sync directly to / with Mac OS. A friend of mine called me and threw this query at me. Then I realized that connecting Android to Mac is not any art, here is its tutorial.
To connect Android Device / smartphone to Mac, all you need is an Android device and Mac. Here is the step by step procedure:
STEP 1: To start with, simply restart your Android device / smartphone. You can even skip this step, but it is recommended to follow when your Mac OS doesn’t recognize your Android device.
STEP 2: Now, take the USB cord and connect your Android Device to your Mac system.
STEP 3: Now, navigate to Settings > Applications > Development on your Android smartphone / device. And then, tap on the button labelled as USB Debugging.
STEP 4: Now, simply drag down the window labelled as Notifications. There, tap on USB connection and then click on Mount.
STEP 5: This will display No Name on your desktop. And you can simply start copying files to your Android device as you are done with connecting your Android device to Mac / synchronizing your Android device with Mac.
Once you are done with your work as you have successfully connected your Android to Mac OS, eject the disk from your Mac and also unmount the same from the Android device and remove the USB cable. This is the complete step by step procedure to synchronize your Android to Mac.
This works great, but only if you have an SD card installed. I’m currently trying to figure out how to do it on a Xoom with Honeycomb. The Xoom has an SD card slot, but hasn’t released the software to use it yet, lame I know, but that’s what I’m left to work with in the mean time.
This does not work for me. HTC Incredible 2. Mac running OS X 10.6.8. The phone does not appear as a device when I connect it via USB, and no USB notification shows on my phone. I did turn on the USB debugging, and I restarted my computer and the phone as well. No dice.
Followed the instructions and walla
Thanks
make sure your phone is connected as a (PTP) not as a (MTP)
