In this we would be comparing posts of some the best ultrabooks in the market. These are, new and old MacBook Pro, LG Xnote Z350 and Acer Aspire S5.

It was not long ago when you hardly had any options if you wanted to buy a ultrabook i.e. ultra thin notebook. But the times have changed and things have only improved in terms of specifications.

I have titled this post as MacBook Pro vs LG Xnote Z350 vs Acer Aspire S5, which clearly implicates that we would be comparing these ultrabooks neck to neck.

MacBook Pro vs LG Xnote Z350 vs Acer Aspire S5 – Compare Specs

Processor

Running on 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3517U Processor with Turbo Boost Technology, Acer Aspire S5 offers you incredible power. Whereas MacBook Pro gets going on2.3GHz Intel Core i7-3610QM processor. But if you want to go with the standard MacBook Pro version, then it would feature 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor.

And LG Xnote Z350 which is one of the latest ultrabook in the market runs on  Intel Core i5/i7 “Ivy Bridge” processors. So based on your budget and requirement, you can go with the different processor configurations for each of these laptops.

Memory and RAM

Well, all these laptops are powered by 4 GB DDR3 RAM except for MacBook Pro with Retina Display as it is powered by an 8GB RAM. And yes, you have number of options to increase the RAM of all the laptops that we are talking about in this post.

Lets talk about the storage memory aspect now. With latest Apple MacBook with Retina Display, you would get 256GB SSD storage which is same as for Acer Aspire S5 too. If you wish to go with the previous version of MacBook Pro, then you get to choose between number of Hard Drive storage models like 500GB, 750 GB and 1TB. And LG Xnote’s HDD and SSD combination offers you with number of options.

Display

There is no question about the fact that Apple wins this aspect against any existing laptop on the planet. A 13inch Retina Display with a resolution of 2,880×1,800 pixels (which is greater than a HDTV) promises incredible display. No doubt, its display you entice you, cease you, thrill you and please you.

If you ignore the Retina Display factor of new MacBook Pro (which is hard to do though), the other laptops that we are talking about here also feature impressive display.

13 inch display screen of picture resolution 2560 by 1600 pixels is quite gorgeous on the standard MacBook Pro models. And Acer Aspire S5 and LGXnote Z350 comes with 13.3-inch LED-backlit display screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Design

Apple has not experimented much with its design but has surely the newer MacBook Pro thinner and lighter. With the well known sparkling aluminum body, it weighs just about 4.6 pounds and measure 14.1 x 9.7 inches in width and length whereas its height (thickness) is 0.7 inch. Being an Apple fan, I would not prefer any other laptop over MacBook when it comes to design. (Yes, this opinion is totally biased ).

And lets talk about the standard MacBook Pro now. It weighs just about 4.5 pounds and measures 12.78 inches in width and 8.94 inches in length and is 0.95 inch thick.

But mind you, the other two laptops are equally pretty. If you are not biased towards Apple, then you might like them better. Acer Aspire S5 weighs about 2.65 lbs and is 0.59 inch in thickness. It measures 12.77 x 8.95 inches in depth and length. If you put all these three laptops together, then you will surely get attracted towards this one as it is way different than the other two. With sexy black finish, to draws some eyes.

LG Xnote Z350 weighs around 42 pounds. Its aluminum design and keyboard with backlit makes it quite similar to MacBook Pro in looks. But yes, that is now every aluminum bodied notebook looks like.

So, visit the nearest store and check out yourself now as you have an idea about MacBook Pro, LG Xnote Z350 and Acer Aspire S5 ultrabooks now.
