I won’t be wrong if I say that I would be comparing the most powerful smartphones of HTC and Sony which are HTC One, HTC Butterfly and Sony Xperia Z.

If have witnessed phones getting converted to smartphones, single core processors to dual core processors, and now to quad core processors. If we just compare things on paper, then you find these specifications are similar to some of the top laptops / notebooks in the market.

In this comparison, I won’t be labeling any smartphone as the better one. I would try to bring the clear picture to you which would surely help you to make a decision of your own. And this specs comparison post has been labelled as HTC One vs HTC Butterfly vs Sony Xperia Z.

Processor

HTC One runs on 1.7 GHz Krait 300 Quad-core processor and similar one powers HTC Butterfly, that is,  1.5 GHz Krait Quad-core processor. And Sony Xperia Z is same processor (i.e. 1.5 GHz Krait Quad-core processor). To be honest, there isn’t much of a difference in terms of the capabilities of the processor.

Display and Graphics

With 4.7 inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display of resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, HTC One surely is a strong contendor. And HTC Butterfly features the display with same configuration but its 5 inch. Whereas, Xperia Z shows up with a 5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with picture resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

All these smartphones are powered by Adreno 320 graphics. Hence, you fight is nullified again in terms of graphics.

Memory and RAM

HTC One has not microSD slot and comes in two models of 32 and 64 GB of internal memory. Whereas, its Butterfly does have a microSD slot (expandable to 32GB), and comes with 16GB of internal storage. Even, Xperia Z have a microSD slot (expandable to 32GB), and comes with 16GB of internal storage.

And all these smartphones run on 2 GB RAM.

Camera

For most of the buyers, camera is one of the deciding factors. HTC One’s rear camera has the specs as 4 MP, 2688 x 1520 pixels, autofocus with LED flash and its front camera is of 2.1 MP. HTC Butterfly’s rear camera has the specs as 8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus, with LED flash and has a front camera of 2.1 MP.

This is where Xperia Z excels as it features 13.1 MP camera with a resolution of 4128×3096 pixels and LED flash. It also has a front camera of 2.2 MP.
