STEP 1:

And to start the upgrading process, you need to download Samsung Kies version 1.5.1.10074_45. It would be better to use this version than its previous or latest versions.

Now, connect Samsung Galaxy S to your computer, run Samsung Kies and wait while this programs detects your Samsung device.

Once Kies is open, minimize the window. Now, enter “regedit” as run command.
STEP 5:
Now, you are supposed to locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\
STEP 6:
Once you find that particular folder, open it and you will find different folders named as 1,23 and so on. Now you task is to find out the folder which contains all details about your Samsung Galaxy S which include current firmware, IMEI number.
STEP 7:
Now, you are required to change the values of 3 parameters, which are as follow:
SoftwareRevision = I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
ProductCode = GT-I9000HKDXEE
HIDSWVER = I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
Your task is to find these parameters and change them. And ensure that you do it correctly.
STEP 8:
Once you are done with the changes, close the Registry Editor and refresh the computer. So,
the funda is that we have changes all the parameters values while Kies is minimized and
Samsung Galaxy S is connected to the computer.
STEP 9:
Now, all you need to do is click on FIRMWARE UPDATE button on the Samsung Kies interface and wait while your Samsung Galaxy S upgrades to Android 2.2 / Froyo.
