Google CR 48 Notebook – Chrome OS Notebook – Specs


Google has launched its first Chrome OS notebook powered by Google Chrome OS, which is named as CR 48. CR48 runs on the pilot program of Google Chrome OS and main reason behind launching this notebook is to get its feedback in order to the better version of CR 48 out when it is meant for the retail market.

Here are the specifications of Google Chrome CR 48 notebook:

  • 12.1 inch display screen
  • Full sized keyboard with clickable touchpad
  • Qualcomm Gobi 3G chip supports CDMA EV-DO, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA for Verizon data in the US or choice of carrier internationally
  • Built in 802.11n dual band WiFi
  • Battery life – 8 hours of active use and 8 days of stand by
  • In built web cam
  • In built jailbreaking mode

The features which make CR 48 special and unique is the fact that it does not have caps lock key, no function keys, not spinning disk and comes with in built jailbreaking mode.

You can get Google Chome CR 48 for free in the market as it is the promotional program by Google. And its retail versions will be out in the middle of 2011, which would be manufactured by Acer and Samsung. We will keep you updated with the latest developments with CR 48.
